On Ometepe, we hired scooters and set off around one side of the island. About 90% of the road was dirt and rocks—we were honestly surprised our little scooter made it. We didn’t take the typical route, but that’s what made it—getting to see locals going about their everyday lives, like this young fella mustering cattle.
